The Belgian Shepherd Dog (Dutch: Belgische Herder), also known as the Belgian Shepherd Dog (Dutch: Belgische Herdershond) or Chien de Berger Belge, is a medium-sized Belgian herding dog. It is bred into four distinct varieties based on coat type and color: the black long-haired Groenendael; the fawn-coated Laekenois; the fawn-coated Malinois; and the fawn-coated Tervuren. The American Kennel Club considers these four varieties to be separate breeds.
